Ayumi Moore Aoki participated in a high-level panel discussion at the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society’s 20th anniversary celebration at Place Vendôme in Paris. Alongside Élisabeth Moreno (President and Board Member, Ring Capital and Ring Africa, and former French Minister of Gender Equality, Diversity and Equality of Opportunities), Alexandra Soto (COO, Lazard), and Monika Queisser-Richaud, Ayumi contributed to the session “The Future is Limitless: Accelerating Women’s Opportunities and Leadership.”

The Theme: Courage

The 20th anniversary of the Women’s Forum centered on courage—a timely theme as global challenges and threats to rights continue to grow. Over two days, leaders from over 100 countries gathered for bold dialogues, inspiring talks, and hands-on workshops, uniting to drive progress toward a more equal, inclusive, and sustainable world.

Panel Focus: Women, Technology, and AI

The panel addressed critical questions about women’s leadership in technology and finance, with particular emphasis on the AI revolution’s impact on the future of work. Ayumi tackled a pressing question: with AI now capable of writing code, how should we update our advice to young women in tech?

Her response emphasized the evolution of tech education. Just as we still learn mathematics at school even though computers can make calculations, understanding coding is about grasping the logic, thinking, and systems behind technology. The future of tech is interdisciplinary—requiring women who bridge technology and humanity, bringing ethics, empathy, and creativity to innovation.

The panel also confronted the uncomfortable reality that tech billionaires are increasingly shaping politics, with not a single woman in that group—underscoring the ongoing systemic barriers to financial power and leadership.
