Tech Diplomacy Global Institute – Africa Symposium
📅 28–30 April 2026
📍 Cape Town, South Africa
The Tech Diplomacy Global Institute is convening its first Africa Symposium in Cape Town, bringing together government leaders, diplomats, technologists, and policymakers to explore what tech diplomacy means for the African continent — and how African nations can become active shapers of the global digital order.
The Symposium will focus on the intersection of digital sovereignty, AI governance, and international cooperation, with particular attention to the opportunities and challenges facing governments across the continent as they navigate an increasingly technology-driven geopolitical landscape.
Ayumi Moore Aoki, Founder and President of the Tech Diplomacy Global Institute, will lead the convening alongside regional leaders and international partners.
The gathering builds on the momentum of the Samarkand Declaration on Tech Diplomacy and reflects TDGI’s commitment to ensuring that the Global South is not only represented but heard in the conversations that are shaping the rules of the digital age.
